CHICKEN SHISH TAWOUK
Chicken Shish Tawouk is a traditional marinated shish kebab of Middle Eastern cuisine. its a very popular dish that is found on almost every restaurant in the Middle East. Easy to make at home and just as delicious.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cubed in 1 ½ 2 inch pieces -
- 1 cup plain 2% yogurt
- ¼ Tsp. paprika
- ¼ Tsp. cayenne
- ½ Tsp. black pepper
- 1½ Tsps. salt
- 1 Tsp all spice
- 1 Tbsp. tomato paste
- 2 Tbsps. garlic, minced
- 2 Tbsps. lemon juice
- 2 Tbsps. olive oil
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix all the marinade ingredients together. Place the cubed chicken into a large container or large Ziploc bag and pour the marinade over the chicken. Mix the chicken with the marinade to be sure all the pieces are well-coated. Cover the container and let marinate in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, up to overnight.
- Preheat an oven to 425° F or an outdoor grill to medium-high heat and lightly oil the grate
- Thread chicken on skewers and grill 6-8 minutes each side or bake 7 minutes each side or until chicken is done.
- Serve Shish Taouk with pita bread, Hummus, pickled vegetables, on top of your salad. Enjoy
